Data Centre Cooling

Data centre cooling works by removing excess heat from the air produced during data centre operation and replacing it with cooler dry air. This is achieved in one of several ways, mechanical cooling, free cooling, or CRAC units (Computer room Air Conditioning). See below for more information.

At Rapid Chiller Rentals Limited, we provide efficient data centre cooling systems to protect your valuable IT hardware in a cost-effective manner. Our professionals can help you design the most suitable cooling system that is based on your specific requirements, and install it at the right location without any delays. We provide 24/7 service so that you can always get in touch with us whenever you need our expertise for solving any of your issues. CRAC Unit – Computer Room Air-Conditioning

A computer room air conditioning (CRAC) unit is a device that monitors and maintains the temperature, air distribution and humidity in a data center, network or server room. CRAC units replace the air-conditioning units used in the past to cool data centers.

Free Cooling

Crudely explained free cooling is the utilisation of a naturally occurring coolant ( air, water etc) to capture and transfer heat away from the air in the data suite, the picture to the right shows an example of fresh air being used to reduce the amount of energy required to cool the air inside the data suite. The air requires treatment prior to use to filter and remove excess moisture, but is still far more energy efficient than mechanical cooling.

Mechanical Cooling – Chiller

A data center chiller provides a cooling system commonly used in a data centers to remove heat from one space to another. Chillers are used by industrial facilities to cool the water used in their heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) units.

Do You Require Data Centre Cooling Services?

We’ve spent years perfecting our systems and working with some of the biggest names in the industry. We offer the services we provide to each of these organisations, so you know that we’re not just working with people who are a good fit for us—we’re also providing excellent work for people who are a good fit for us. We do everything from consulting and design to installation, maintenance and repair—and everything in between. Our clients range from small businesses who need office cooling and have one server room to large enterprises with multiple sites, so we have the experience necessary to work with you no matter your needs.

We’ve worked with businesses that are growing and those that are scaling back, too—so we understand all sides of this process, which means we can help you plan ahead for your server room setups even if you don’t think they’ll need attention any time soon. Whether you want help getting your current cooling systems running more efficiently or you want to make sure there’s something in place before your business grows beyond its current capacity, we can help.

Portable Cooling Solutions

We have come to understand the importance of portable cooling solutions in data centres and hence, we offer portable cooling solutions with the latest technology in place. Our portable cooling solutions are environment-friendly and energy-efficient. They are made using highly durable materials and our engineers rigorously test them for quality before delivering them to our clients. We store these units on racks that are specifically designed for this purpose, which minimises the space they take up in a data centre.

The units we provide are capable of cooling data centre spaces that are up to 20,000 square feet in size. They cool the entire area using the process of evaporation. Using this process, we don’t need to use any chilled water or any other coolants to keep the environment in the centre cool and comfortable for the workers operating there. Our employees have been trained by industry experts and they have years of experience in this field.

IT Cooling Systems

We are specialists in an array of areas for your IT equipment and make sure that it is regularly checked and maintained to prevent any problems from occurring. Our data centre cooling service in Manchester is designed to work with you and your business, ensuring that we understand your goals and what you want to achieve. We can provide a tailored service that will help you to meet those objectives while reducing expenditure where possible.

Our range of services means that we can handle all of your needs in one place, from offering advice on the most appropriate cooling systems and humidity control to providing maintenance contracts for those systems if necessary.

Data Centre Evaporative Cooling

Here at Rapid Chiller Rentals Limited, we know that keeping your servers cool is crucial to their performance. The UK climate can be harsh, and without the right equipment your servers may overheat and stop functioning. That’s why we provide data centre cooling services to help you keep your data centre running smoothly. We can provide evaporative cooling for your server room, which has several benefits over traditional outside air conditioning. Here’s how it works: water is pumped through a series of wet pads, where it evaporates and removes heat from the air temperature in the server room.

This process creates a pleasant cooling breeze for your staff and makes sure that your servers are operating at their maximum cooling efficiency all year round.

Data Centre Immersion

Many of the components inside a data centre are heat-sensitive and require specialised cooling systems to keep them cool. The key to high-performance computing is the speed of your data centre, which means that your existing equipment must be kept in a controlled environment with a constant temperature. Most data centres use cold air and hot air cooling systems to control the temperature inside their facility, but as this only works on the basis of convection, it tends to struggle when there are multiple pieces of equipment being used at once, or if there are any significant changes in ambient temperature and humidity.

An immersion cooling system can be used without the need for fans or heat sinks, as all that’s needed is circulation of coolant through your servers. This way you’ll be able to reduce server down-time by ensuring that your equipment never reaches an unsafe operating temperature. It also means you can manage your hardware remotely and run more than one server from a single cabinet. Depending on how many servers you have running and how complex your network is, this could save you a great deal of money every year.
